Welcome to Artsy Play Wednesday on Capri + 3 and Caution! Twins at play! Each week creative blogs come together and share their arts, crafts and play posts so that we can be inspired to try fun new ideas with the children in our lives. I will get things started with a Valentine's Day craft I did with the Sugar Snaps this week and then please join in and add your posts.
Egg Carton Sweet Heart Face with a Candy Kiss Nose
You will need:
- Egg carton (cardboard)
- Scissors
- Red tempera paint
- Paint brush
- glitter
- Hershey's kiss with red wrapping
- White glue
- Google eyes
Capri had fun painting her sweet heart face.
Cut out the egg carton in the shape of a heart. An adult or older child should do this part. Then, have your child use the paint brush to paint the heart red. When the paint is still wet, your child can sprinkle glitter on it. Once it dries, have your child glue on the eyes and place the candy kiss nose in the hole at the lower end of the heart (see picture). No glue is needed for the candy kiss. This activity should be supervised as the candy kisses could pose a choking hazard for younger children. Our little ones do not know that they are candy so they made no attempt to eat them as I did activity one on one.
Now it is your turn. Please jump right in and add as many direct links as you would like to your arts, crafts and play posts (so everyone can find them months from now). It would be great if you would add the Artsy Play Wednesday button (or a text link) to your linked posts (or to your blog's sidebar) so that your readers can come over and join in the fun. I look forward to reading all of the great ideas. Feel free to pin any of the posts you enjoy or you can simply pin Artsy Play Wednesday so that you can have easy access to all the great ideas at once. It is time to inspire and be inspired. Enjoy.

I love these egg carton hearts! We always keep egg cartons and this is such a great idea. I cannot wait to do this! You should link it up to Eco-Kids. I just found this linky focused on recycled crafts and such and love it. http://organicaspirations.blogspot.com/2013/01/if-like-me-you-live-in-united-states.html
Thank you Jennifer. I hope your family enjoys making them. I will check out and link it to Eco-Kids. Thanks for telling me about it!
